We are super excited to announce the launch of a brand new competition alongside Ocean Revival!
We are scouting the country to find the next Einstien – and we are not just talking about the lockdown hairstyle. For a chance to win a visit to your school from both the Plastic Oceans team AND the fearless foursome from Ocean Revival 2020, we are looking for an inventive, informative, and intricate plastic picking machine.
You mission, if you chose to accept it, is to;
‘design your very own fantasy machine that cleans up pointless plastic in your area’
Your design should be suited to your local area, and designed to solve an issue that you see in the environment around you. It should be no longer than two sides of A4 paper, and include at least two plastic facts.
These resources have been designed to spark your creativity and empower you to grapple the issue of plastic pollution in your area in a way that best suits you. So, put on your thinking caps and sharpen your pencils, as you are about to become the engineers of this project.
We are very proud to be supporting the team at Ocean Revival with this competition. They are a team of serving and former serving Royal Marine Commandos, who have fought alongside each other in 45 Commando. They have been planning on taking on the Most Dangerous Row, the 3600 miles that stands between Brooklyn Bridge and Tower Bridge. With the current COVID-19 situation, they are currently replanning their trip. However, they have continued to be dedicated to the cause of raising awareness of plastic pollution in the ocean by inspiring the next generation to sit up and take action.
Their support has been absolutely outstanding, and they have reached over 15,000 school children to spark their interest in nature and a love for the outdoor world. We are so grateful for all that they have done and are continually impressed by the work they achieve. If you would like to keep up to date with their journey, then you can view their website here, or follow them on social media with the name @RevivalOcean on Twitter, or @oceanrevival2020 on Instagram.
To enter our competition, make sure you follow our guidelines and send your designs to firstname.lastname@example.org before the 22nd May 2020. Winners will be announced by the 29th May 2020. If you have any questions, then please contact email@example.com. Good luck, and have fun!
