Plastic Oceans UK are proud to launch our new education site for primary and secondary schools. As well as assembly presentations and an e-learning resource, our site provides lesson plans and a variety of materials for ages 5 through 16.
Our approach towards understanding and rectifying the situation is to develop the ability to be global, creative problem-solving, critical thinkers. The big question is: can we learn to live sustainably with plastic?
Our Star (ages 5-7) and SuperStar (ages 7-11) resources are CREST accredited.
The CREST Awards scheme is the British Science Association’s flagship programme for young people. CREST is a scheme that inspires young people to think and behave like scientists and engineers.
Each of these activities counts as one of eight required for a CREST Star/SuperStar Award. Find out more about how you could use these activities to gain a CREST Award at www.crestawards.org.
The secondary materials have been written to replace rather than merely supplement the curriculum. They are easily adaptable for different examination boards, and are designed to work with the International GCSE system. The differentiated teaching materials include presentations, teaching notes, and resources across a wide range of subjects.
We have been generously supported by WWF Hong Kong in the development of our materials.
