Plastic Oceans UK are pleased to announce that we are part of a unique product line-up for Christmas 2020. The feel-good festive range has been revealed in partnership with John Lewis by the non-profit social enterprise, Advent of Change, which pioneered the UK’s first advent calendar with a charity behind each door.
Advent of Change began with founder Kristina’s idea to reverse the consumerist nature of Christmas and bring back the giving spirit, quickly capturing the imagination of others.
We’re delighted to joining the Advent of Change movement and you can support us alongside 47 other amazing charities by purchasing the Charity Advent Candle, Premium Charity Advent Calendar, Charity Advent Calendar, Children’s Charity Advent Calendar, and Charity Christmas Crackers. The profit from these sales will contribute to our mission to stop plastic reaching the oceans within a generation.
Advent of Change has also secured a number of exciting endorsements from household names such as Richard Branson, Joanna Lumley, Greg James, Lawrence Dallaglio and even received an award from the Prime Minister for its outstanding contribution to charity and the community.
By the end of 2019, Advent of Change had raised £300,000 for its chosen charities, its founder, 28-year-old Kristina Salceanu, hopes to raise the same again this year. She said:
“It’s been a challenging year for the charity sector which is facing losses of £10bn and lost fundraising income due to the Covid-19 pandemic…with one purchase, helping a number of different causes, this is needed now more than ever.
We are extremely proud to be representing Plastic Oceans UK with our products.”
