Just keep swimming…

Forget about Dory and Nemo, our new swimming champion is Dave Chisholm!

Dave is an open-water swimmer, having already conquered the English Channel, and is about to embark on his latest endeavor. For his 60th birthday, he is taking on the iconic 41-miles around Jersey in the first week of August.

He is looking to complete the course in under twelve hours. To complete this, he has to ensure that he regularly trains in all conditions. This means training in the open seas around his hometown of Kingsdown, Kent, through all seasons – including a grueling session on Boxing Day.

A Sensibly Socially-distanced Stretch

Supported by the incredible Kingsdown Crawlers: Lee, Bryn, Kris, Pedro, and coach Laura, David will start his swim in the first week of August, weather permitting.

As an open-water swimmer, the oceans hold a place in Dave’s heart. Therefore, Dave has been raising money for Plastic Oceans UK to help us complete our mission of ‘ending plastic pollution within a generation’.

“The swim is dedicated to raising funds for Plastic Oceans UK. It’s a great cause and all donations will be most gratefully passed on to them by JustGiving”

We certainly wish him all the best and we cannot wait to hear all about the success of his swim!

Dave will be swimming the 41-miles of the Jersey Coast in support of Plastic Oceans UK. You can keep up to date with his progress and support him on his journey through his JustGiving Page.
